Rather than trying to get a credit card that's exactly like credit cards for people with better credit ratings, and paying through the nose for the privilege, consider getting a secured or prepaid credit card. To get a secured credit card, you leave a deposit (the security) with the lender. Your credit line is equal to the amount you deposited. You use the secured credit card just like a regular, unsecured credit card, charging to it and paying the bill as usual. If you default, however, your repayment comes out of the security.
